Catch Beach Club on Surin Beach really knows how to put on an event. I’m pretty much a homebody these days but my friends and I were excited to get to the Twinpalms 8th Anniversary party in September. With free food and cocktails for two solid hours, a good turnout was guaranteed.

What an amazing night! Sometimes I get caught up in work, family and the daily grind of life and I forget to appreciate the joy of living near the beach with a year-round summer climate.

Music, dancing, friends and great food on the beach on a balmy tropical night — about as good as it gets, really. The whole scene evoked my favourite Bob Dylan refrain:
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.
These lines are from Tambourine Man. There were no tambourines at the Catch party; it had a hipster DJ instead, but the sounds were still pretty enlivening. Dylan would have probably hated the party, but never mind, it was fun!
